Nineteen 'late night degenerates' took to the virtual felts of Lock Poker for the 161st running of The Impromptu! All of the usual suspects were there to try to capture the Cup, and some new faces looking to make a mark. One of those was FUCard311, who wasted no time getting in on the action, including taking a third of my chips with a set of eights.
Once again this week, SuddenMoves posted $1 bounties on four players registered for the game. The first of those to fall was NotBatgirl. After flopping a flush, she was dutifully getting chips off of SuddenMoves, who had top pair. Two pair on the turn was enough to see the money go in, but but the river would bring a full house for SuddenMoves, and NotBatgirl was crippled. But it would be Sanere taking her final chips, and collecting the bounty.
SuddenMoves would collect the second bounty, when he felted WinJStar in 10th place, which also brought us to the final table. You can listen to the final table of the broadcast in Mp3.
69belette69 would be the third bounty collected. Radio_Wade called her shove on the turn, with a flush-draw and an open ended straight draw. 69belette69 turned over two pair, but Wade completed his straight with a King on the river, and collected the bounty, with 69belette69 finishing in 8th place.
cainiac1 would be the fourth bounty eliminated. He was working the short stack, and open shoved his 4bb's with AQ of spades. Sanere would make the call with Ducks, and they would hold, sending cainiac1 to the rail in 7th place.
As we got to four-handed play, at the bubble, the stacks were as follows:
Seat 2: FUCard311 (12,110 in chips)
Seat 7: Sanere (9,847 in chips)
Seat 8: SuddenMoves (3,828 in chips)
Seat 9: curtinsea (12,215 in chips)
Seat 7: Sanere (9,847 in chips)
Seat 8: SuddenMoves (3,828 in chips)
Seat 9: curtinsea (12,215 in chips)
And the real battle would begin. SuddenMoves would collect three straight uncontested pots to more than double his stack. Sanere would also make some moves, and within ten hands, the stacks were all about equal at around 9k. Until . . .
I made a button raise, 2.5x with KJ of Clubs, and Sanere 3-bet from the big blind. I made the call. The flop was Kd 7c 8c and the money went in. Sanere turned over KK for a set, leaving me with nine outs twice, about a 2.5 to 1 underdog. But the turn would be kind to me, with the 6 of clubs completing my flush, and fading nine outs on the river to cripple Sanere. SuddenMoves would deal the final blow, and Sanere would be the bubble.
With half the chips in front of me, it looked good for a tenth win. And after taking a large pot from SuddenMoves, I had twice as many chips as my two opponents combined. But alas, gotta finish strong for that to happen.
With just over 6bb left, SuddenMoves open shoved his Q8 off suit, and I called with pocket tens. A Queen on the river would double him up. A bit of a spew play from me nearly doubled up FUCard311, and my once awesome chip lead was diminished and nearly gone. Then SuddenMoves open shoved from the small blind, and I called from the big blind with AQ of spades. He turned over pocket threes to set up the race, but a flopped set turned full house sent nearly all of my chips over to SuddenMoves. I managed a double up, and thought I might get back in the hunt, but that came crashing down as I shoved pocket tens. FUCard311 reshoved, getting SuddenMoves out of the way, and showed AK. I would lose this race too, as Kings on the flop and turn sealed my fate, and I finished in 3rd place.
Heads up play started with SuddenMoves holding a 5-4 chip advantage. But he would watch that lead get "flushed" away, as his AA was cracked by A9 of diamonds, making a flush and scooping nearly all of the chips. The final blow would come on this final hand . . . .
So congratulations go out to the newcomer, FUCard311 takes victory in his first Impromptu!!! Hope you enjoyed the game and become a regular among the late night degenerates.
And a big hand to SuddenMoves, who very nearly scored a fifth win. Also thanks for the bounties, always makes it interesting when players have a wanted poster on them!!
And thanks everyone who listened in Tami (T bone69) and myself (curtinsea) on LuvinPoker Radio. We hope to be back on again next week, providing a small measure of entertainment for all the great players who continue to make The Impromptu a great game!!

Wade also put a 1$ bounty on Sudden Moves
