Results of our 3rd Anniversary Game

For the final weekend of 2012 we held our 3rd Anniversary game last night. We saw one of the largest crowds in some time, as thirty-nine 'late night degenerates' took to the virtual felt of LuvinPoker for the good times.

At the end of late registration, we had four tables of nine players each. The current chip leader at each table at this time became a bounty. The bounties would go on ImQ1369 on table 1, mr_e on table 2, QueenPea on table 3, and Nynus on table 4. We would reach the first break with 24 players remaining, including all four bounty players.

We would break down to two tables 90 minutes in, with the elimination of polaris16, and still all four bounties were unclaimed. But that would change pretty quickly. Mr_e was the first of the bounties to be claimed when he was sent to the rail by Arwen. Just a few minutes later, ImQ1369 was done in by none other than j "freakin'" regis, who appeared to be what we have dubbed "the pre-determined winner." And in another six minutes or so, SuddenMoves would knock out QueenPea.

We hit the final table right at 2:00 am et, and by the time we went to break at 2;05, we had lost three more players. Our 7th place finisher would be the final bounty, as PantsOnFire sent Nynus to the rail. next out would be our bubble finisher, and LPBatgirl218 would earn that distinction, and a buy-in to the Lock debut game that went along with it. That left five players battling it out for the cup.

therealslomo played a tough game. He was, at one point, in the bb with less than the sb behind. From there he had become the runaway chip leaders five handed. But the blinds were high and the chips were flying, and we would see therealslomo hit the rail in 5th place. Trynot2hate would follow immediately in 4th place after hanging tough for this final table. jregis appeared, to me, destined to win this game, but that was not to be, as he was taken down in 3rd place, leaving Fabolous1 and PantsOnFire heads-up for the title. Fab had the solid chip lead, and he would put it down to win this game for the third time!!

Congratulations to our winner, and runner up!!!

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to us on UStream. The broadcast is a work in progress, thanks for bearing with me  :)

Tonight is the 3rd Anniversary of The Impromptu!  I'd like to thank everyone who has been a part of the 154 runnings of this game over these last three years. It truly has been fun hosting this game, and I hope it will continue and go stronger in the future.

Joining me will be ziximania, and we will do our best to give you some great coverage and some entertaining banter. We hope you all will listen in during the game tonight. 12.23 Impromptu results . . .

Last night we set out to do a broadcast show for the Impromptu, and while it didn't work out quite as well as we had hoped, I'm left encouraged and plan to do it again with some much needed improvements. I appreciate everyone who listened in through the static and cutting out and the commercials. The free version of UStream is not the best platform to broadcast from, but a bit better upload connection would have made a huge difference. I'll announce some details going forward after Christmas. Next week's game will mark the 3rd Anniversary of The Impromptu, and we'll have some extra stuff going on.

Meanwhile, last night's game was fantastic. Thirty-one 'late night degenerates' came out to the virtual felts of LuvinPoker for the fun. And while we tried to sort out our broadcast, the chips were a-flyin'. We got to see a few faces we'd been missing of late, including LuckyAssLep, a four-time winner who caught me drawing with his turned set and sent me to the rail empty handed.

WinJStar would be knocked out in eleventh place, bringing us to the final table. There were some strong competitors remaining to be sure, including a five-time winner in widebutt and four two-time winners, fabolous1, ziximania, leanto133, and biggdoggmaxx. These five players would make the bulk of the top six finishers, but they were all topped in the end by spacecase, picking up his first ever Impromptu title!!!

Congratulations to our trophy winners, and a big thanks to everyone for turning up last night!

Watch later in the week for details about our 3rd Anniversary game!

Impromptu results for 12.9 and 12.16

Last week's game saw twenty-seven 'late night degenerates' take to the virtual felt of LuvinPoker to do battle for the Impromptu cup. The final table was loaded with five former winners with twenty-five cups between them, and when it got to heads up action, we had Zixipoo battling against caniac1 in hopes of getting his record tying 9th Impromptu win. But alas, it was not to be, as caniac1 pulled off the victory, his first in the Impromptu, and Zixipoo would settle for 2nd place . . .

Last night's game saw twenty-four players come out for the fun. Last week's winner and runner up were right there at the end in four handed play, but they would go out in the same order as last week, albeit this time in third and fourth places. Heads up play would come down to a battle between Halfcent50 and bcsweetheart, with the latter securing her first Impromptu title!

Late results for 12.2 . . .

Sorry folks, but here's the story from last week's Impromptu . . . .

We had thirty-two late night degenerates show up for a great game. I found myself crippled early losing to a flopped set with my combo draw, and made my exit near the bottom of the pile. The first hour would see the field cut in half, and by the second break we were four handed.

yoyo1974 would be dismissed as play resumed, and three handed play would run for 15 minutes until ej1609 was eliminated. That left Fabolous1 and 69belette69 in a somewhat brief heads up battle. When the dust settled, it would be Fabolous1 standing alone at the top, winning his second Impromptu title!!!

Congrats Fab on a great victory, and a big hand for 69belette69's runner up finish!!
