Our Fifth Anniversary Game!!!

The Impromptu has enjoyed five years of fun-filled games, and the regular group of players we know as the 'late night degenerates' continue to be the greatest group of players to enjoy a game with. This past weekend we celebrated this anniversary with our 265th running, and fifty players came out to enjoy the good times.

Which brought the game to heads up action. spookylizzie began heads up play with a 60/40 chip edge. But flashtacoma brought his 'A' game and wrestled the chip lead away, and then used it well to take the victory!!


Lets hope for five more years of good times to come! Thank you all again. And congratulations Flash!!

Repeat winners and a new record!

We had another couple of great games see the legends of The Impromptu taste victory once again. Back on the 14th of December, DrRunGood1 aka Fab would take a victory and extend his win count to eight, and putting himself all alone in fifth place on the all time win chart. He defeated LeanTo133 for the win.

The following week, Zixipoo would once again shine, and show the poker prowess that has kept him at or near the top of the all time winners list for so long, taking victory for the fifteenth time and setting him apart from all others as the winningest player in Impromptu history!!  He would defeat shyne42 heads up for the win.

Five Long Years!

It's actually flown by, hasn't seemed so long at all. But five years is how long The Impromptu has been a tradition among the great group of players we know as the 'late night degenerates.' To mark this milestone, and the 265th running of this great game, we are going to whoop it up a bit, and celebrate with as many of our friends and competitors as we can get to the table, and we're going to pump up the prize pool a bit as well.

News From The Impromptu!

I haven't done results for the Impromptu since early October, as colonelangus was in a hot streak, having just won back to back titles. Well it seems natural to get some results out, as we've come full circle, with colonelangus winning once again. This is the fourth time he has gotten to hoist the Imprompu Cup! He also took the bounty for KO'ing tenth place and breaking to the final table.

Incredibly, in the eight games between colonelangus' wins, burkey has been on a tear, taking three wins and moving into a tie with zixipoo on the all time leaderboard with 14 Impromptu victories! An amazing feat in a condensed time frame, burkey has been a consistent force to be reckoned with.

We have also had many new players finding the game and become 'late night degenerates' in their own right. Harpcat has played with most of us in private games for years, and he would pick up his first ever Impromptu, as with long time player island21, also taking his first Cup. New comers mrsredcard and tooth325 also picked up wins, both with impressive victories over solid regulars. And then there is gridlock10, a formidable opponent in every game he enters, he is always a threat, and he picked up a coveted Impromptu Title to add to his collection.
