But please don't feel under appreciated or slighted, I'm here to acknowledge the great players who fought their way to victory in the last four games, ultimately hoisting the coveted Impromptu Cup!!!!
Going back to April 20th, we saw a great victory. As the broadcasters each picked who they thought would win, wjh10489 did not hear his name called.
This would serve as all the motivation he needed, as he sliced his way through the remaining players one by one, until it was he alone with chips in front of him, taking the victory and his first Impromptu Cup!!
On April 27th, one of the toughest competitors among the 'late night degenerates' returned to his winning ways. Burkey came on strong and took all the chips on his way to victory.
This is Burkey's Tenth Impromptu victory, and moves him within one win of second place on the all time winners list. A definite force to reckon with, I guess I need to up my game before I drop down to third on the list!!
On May fourth, another great player collected yet another title, as FUCard311 collected his sixth Impromptu title. FUCard311 won his debut game against the 'late night degenerates' and has been a constant threat each week he joins us on the felts. After a runner up finish to wjh10489 two weeks before, this week he was able to push through for the well deserved victory
This win puts him among rare company on the all time winners list, and you can be sure he will continue moving up!
Which brings us to last night's game, where we saw another great battle, culminating in a fantastic heads up match between the chicagoicon and BearPlay. While it looked like BearPlay would rebound and deny Icon's his second Impromptu Cup, the tide would once again change, and chicagoicon would hoist the cup in a well played victory!!!
The Impromptu continues to be a great game among a crowd of the most enjoyable players week in and week out.
