Last week's Impromptu was another great game with the 'late night degenerates' on the virtual felts of Lock Poker. A small field of dedicated regulars made for a tightly contested game, and with familiar faces at the final table. Eight players had prior wins, with all combining for 34 Impromptu Cups, leaving no doubt we would have a battle for the win.
The money bubble would break at five handed play in a hand that saw two players get felted. Shyne42 folded UTG and SuddenMoves opened for a raise to 450. DavidMavrikakis was on the short stack with less than five big blinds, and he moved his remaining chips in the middle. DrRunGood1 then moved his stack of 1900 in the middle, only to have burkey76 5-bet shove. SuddenMoves then made the call for his tourney life and tabled Pocket Kings. DavidMavrikakis showed K6hh, and DrRunGood1 and burkey76 both showed AJ. The proverbial 'ace on the river' would see a split pot, and two eliminations.
Shyne42 and burkey76 would find their way to heads up play. Eleven wins between them, each would fight hard for the cup. But this week it would be burkey76 taking his sixth win in The Impromptu!!
