My apologies for slacking on the results for the great game we know as The Impromptu. I have been remiss about getting them out there in a timely fashion, and have let two weeks slide by without acknowledging the winners. And I must also apologize for the brief acknowledgement here, and assure you all I will get back to more comprehensive reports going forward! That said . . . .
In the first game of 2014, we saw an epic battle come down to a heads up fight between two six-time winners of the Impromptu, each looking to move into a three-way tie for third on the all time wins list. Eirkur and Shyne42 gave us an excellent match, and in the end, Shyne got it in good with his pocket Queens, but Eirkur had him covered and spike a set of sixes to take the trophy!
Last week, we saw a rare appearance by sipowitz56, who brought his usual dominance at the table to The Impromptu, and put on a clinic. He would find himself heads up with newcomer ginosbiker, who also played a great game throughout. But sipowitz would take the final hand and his very first of what will probably be many Impromptu victories!
